Special Someone

I want to be someone's special someone

But I can't let that be

Why should I be special to them 

If they're not special to me

At least at some point in my life

But the way things are going 

It looks like timing will never be right.

All nature is a jealous watcher, conspiring to keep me from the one

You see, it's been a long while I've carried this desire with me

So long has she been my companion, now the desire herself is the special someone to me.
