Best Pizza in New York ( AKA, You were right Emily Nelson)

There are so many amazing pizza places in New York, and even the dollar slice places are better than most places out of the city. I'll share my top eight with you, plus some honorable mentions, but be warned, I'm kind of a Brooklyn boy when it comes to pizza, though I think one or two places from Manhattan make the cut.

Top Eight

1. Di Fara's
(The most authentic pizza that exists on the face on the earth: one old Italian master makes every pizza by hand. He may be having an off day so call ahead to make sure he's around if you're going to trek all the way out to Midwood)
1424 Avenue J, Brooklyn, NY 11230

2. Paulie Gee's
(A NY style pizza that has it's own living, breathing character: not sucked up in trends or status fights)
60 Greenpoint Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11222

3. Tie: Grimaldi's and Juliana's compete for recognition as Brooklyn's oldest and best slice.
Grimaldi's
1 Front St
Brooklyn, NY 11201

Juliana's
19 Old Fulton St
Brooklyn, NY 11201

4. Lombardi's
(This one is in everyone's NYC guide books for a reason)
32 Spring St, New York, NY 10012

5. Roberta's
(An decent an attempt to create a new classic space for NY style; on the trendy side)
261 Moore St, Brooklyn, NY 11206

6. Joe's Pizza
(Get their margarita style; fast and easy access to tremendous flavor)
7 Carmine Street
@ Bleecker Street
New York, NY 10014

7. John's of Times Square
(A staple NY style, have to mention it)
260 W. 44th Street
New York, NY 10036

Most Honorable Mention

A. Artichoke Basille's Pizza
(Tasty artichoke or tomato sauce on a fresh, non-NY style crust)
Any Location, just google the name

B. Not Ray's Pizza
(A good NY slice with lots of styles and no fuss)
694 Fulton St
New York, NY 11217

C. Patsy's
(Least trendy, consistent NY-style, with decent dining room)
Any location, just google the name

Honorable Mention
