Like No One I've Ever Known Before
I met her through the words of a friend,
Like no one I've ever known before.
I met her through the words of her pen,
Like no one I've ever known before.
Her pen was a tumblr,
She typed out her thoughts,
Her ideas and dreams all digitally distilled.
Her face was a picture,
Facebook to my mind.
Seamlessly presenting the best of herself.
"A lie," I thought.
"It cannot be true.
"You cannot be sharing a you truly you."
I read some more,
And the truth tumblr-ed out,
Though, slowly and slyly, in post after post.
"I wonder," I mused.
"Do you think yourself clever?
"Or, do you even, yourself, half the time get confused?"
She's still only hearsay,
Not having met her yet.
She tweets and I facebook, and we message it out.
This is it, yes.
This may just be.
I think that we know, this is as good as it gets.
She came to me virtually, hidden from view,
Like no one I've ever known before.
Her energy, is it so strong or just what I make it?
Like no one I've ever known before.
Like no one I've ever known before.
I met her through the words of her pen,
