2 March 1997
Local high school student Jayne Air welcomes village commissioner George Orbits to the grand opening of a new arts space, Down & Polyester, in the rural district of Pillow, PA, next Tuesday, March 8, 1997. Down & Polyester, which was largely funded through Air's own development work, opens with exhibits from the valley's own Ned Kibbitts, the area's favorite painter of landscapes, as well as from the more progressive Johnny Digitis with his work involving video game consoles. The formal opening will be followed by a six week run of the exhibits, from 9:00AM to 5:00PM, Tuesday through Saturday.
Just on the heels of her seventeenth birthday, Jayne Air takes her place in the art world with the likes of other acclaimed art people, such as Andy Warhol and the Wright brothers, Frank and Lloyd. The Central Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce is pleased to support Air's work by presenting her with a plaque of achievement and a $50 gift certificate to Pete's Famous Steak.
Air has plans to expand Down & Polyester's exhibits to include music and dining experiences. For further inquiries, contact Jayne Air's answering assistant, calling 570/205-7441.
